Fruit of the Earth

This piece is about the connection between femininity and consumption-- women are treated akin to fruit on a tree, in this case an apple. Best case scenario, they are picked when they're "ripe" and become nothing more than something to be consumed. In many cases however, they are not picked from the vine and become pariahs, left to rot because they are not consumable. This digital painting conveys the female form as a consumed apple, harkening back to the Garden of Eden.
