This sculpture was created by myself and my colleague/close friend Amanda Solano. This was created as a part of RISD's annual Vis-A-Thon workshop, where scientists collaborate with local artists to create artistic interpretations of their work. This piece represents the research Amanda and I have done on bluegill neuroanatomy, where the foam and cloth hand represents organic biological research and the wire hand represents technological integration. The two hands are combined to show how integration of the organic and inorganic can be combined to create something greater than the sum of their parts.
