Research

I began doing research in the Maia Lab in 2022, making scientific illustrations and studying dorsal fin innervation of bluegill fish (Lepomis macrochirus). I worked in this lab for 5 semesters, before moving to the Ramsay Lab in January 2025.

My current research is in the biomechanics of shark biting. I study the Adductor Mandibulae Complex in spiny dogfish (Squalus acanthias) and its tendinous insertions. Please watch the video below for a recent presentation on this work! This presentation is from the 2025 Northeast regional meeting for the Society of Integrated Comparative Biology.
